IAEWP is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Don Lauro de la Cruz as the National Chancellor of Mexico, with immediate effect.
Don Lauro de la Cruz is a Medicine Man, an ancestral and native with Mayan lineage, originating from the Mountains of Chiapas, Mexico. From a young age he was recognized by his community as a healer and since then he has traveled sharing his teachings and medicine. The healing that he undertakes open the door to a wider internal transformation process that connects us with the Medicine of the Soul.
Since he was a child he was recognized by his community as a healer and since then he has traveled teaching his teachings and his medicine. The hearings that he performs open the door to a broader inner transformation process, which connects us with the nature of symbols, with silence, with freedom and especially with the sacred essence of the heart.
Don Lauro works part of the year in the Mirador Ecological Conservation in San Cristóbal de las Casas, where he shares his wisdom with the people that seek him. For over twenty years, this space, also known as “The Mountain”, has welcomed hundreds of people interested in discovering how to express their own life essence. During summer and winter, workshops and ceremonies are offered to any person who wants to attend.
Don Lauro is a teacher that shows us how to look with new eyes at the world that surrounds us. For him, the most sacred spirituality should show us the simplicity of things and the key for that is to live and recognize our own humanity in all of its aspects.
As a Medicine Man he has been in contact with teachers from different traditions that, like him, have safeguarded the teachings that can only be transmitted from heart to heart. Don Lauro is the author of Huellas de mi piel, a compilation of drawings and teachings that follows the tradition of ancient pre-hispanic codex. He is also the subject of the documentary The Man of the Mountain and has participated with authority in subjects of spirituality in the movies Creer es Crear, Artesanos, Re and Escapando.
During the past few years, Don Lauro has traveled through Canada, Spain, South America, the United States, Japan and Bali. He has participated in academic and university forums, international meetings, medicine wheels and elder councils, on which he has shared his Mayan knowledge and teachings.
